Nicki Minaj's Amsterdam Concert Cancelled Amid Legal Troubles

Nicki Minaj, the Trinidad-born rapper and singer known for hits like "Super Bass" and "Anaconda", has had her second concert in Amsterdam cancelled following her arrest in the Netherlands for allegedly carrying drugs. The concert, which was part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, was scheduled to take place at the Ziggo Dome on Sunday, June 2.

The official website of concert promoter, Mojo, announced the cancellation, stating, "Due to the events of last week, the Nicki Minaj show on Sunday, 2nd June at Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam will no longer be taking place. Tickets will be refunded at the point of sale."

Nicki Minaj, who had not spoken about the cancellation on her social media platforms, took to social media to document her arrest by Dutch authorities at an airport in the Netherlands. She was en route to Manchester for the next stop of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour but had to postpone the show due to her legal troubles.

In her posts, She claimed that the authorities "took my luggage without consent" and were "trying to stop me from going to Manchester." She further added, "This is Amsterdam, where marijuana is legal."

However, while cannabis is decriminalized in Amsterdam, it is still not legal to carry it in public or grow it.

According to the BBC, Dutch police said Nicki Minaj was fined and allowed to continue her trip. In a statement, Nicki Minaj said she sat in a jail cell for “5-6 hours” and that her plane was not allowed to take off until 20 minutes after boarding. She further alleged that her being stopped at the airport was part of a plan to stop her from going to Manchester and derail her tour.

The cancellation of the Amsterdam concert and the postponement of the Manchester concert have left many of Nicki Minaj's fans disappointed. However, she has rescheduled the Manchester concert for June 3, promising her fans a "really special" show.

The Pink Friday 2 World Tour, which is the most extensive tour of Nicki Minaj's career, consisting of 80 shows across three continents, has been marked by this unexpected incident. Despite the setback, Nicki Minaj continues to perform, leaving her mark as one of the most influential figures in the music industry.
