Alan Olav Walker was born on August 24, 1997, in Northampton, England. He is a Norwegian-British music producer and DJ known for his 2015 single "Faded," which received platinum certifications in over ten countries.

His father, Philip Alan Walker, is of British origin, and his mother, Hilde Omdal Walker, is of Norwegian origin. He has an elder sister, Camilla Joy, and a younger brother, Andreas. Alan moved to Bergen, Norway, with his family when he was two years old.

He was fascinated by computer programming and graphic designing early in life. His interest in music production began after listening to composers like David Whistle and Hans Zimmer. Alan Walker learned music production by watching YouTube tutorials and started producing music on his laptop using FL Studio.

In 2012, Alan Walker began pursuing music as a career and posted his music on YouTube and SoundCloud, taking feedback from listeners. He released his track "Fade" in August 2014, which became immensely popular. In 2015, he re-released "Fade" as "Faded," which topped multiple music charts and reached number one in over ten countries.

His debut album, Different World, was released in December 2018 and reached number one on the charts in Norway and Finland.

His second album, World of Walker, was released in November 2021. Alan's catalogue includes singles like "Sing Me to Sleep," "Alone," "Tired," "The Spectre," "All Falls Down," "Darkside," "Diamond Heart," "On My Way," and "Alone, Pt. II."

Alan Walker is known for his unique way of dressing, often appearing in shows wearing a hoodie and a mask covering half of his face. He has performed live at over 600 festival and arena shows.
