Alexa Vega

Alexa Vega, born Alexa Ellesse Vega on August 27, 1988, in Miami, Florida, is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Carmen Cortez in the "Spy Kids" film series. Her father, Baruch Vega, is a Colombian fashion photographer, and her mother, Gina Rue, is a former model.

Alexa Vega has six siblings, including actress Makenzie Vega. The family moved to California when Alexa was four years old, and she was homeschooled during her teenage years.

She began her acting career at the age of five, appearing on the CBS television series "Evening Shade". She gained widespread recognition in 2001 for her role as Carmen Cortez in "Spy Kids," a role she reprised in the sequels "Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams" and "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over". She also performed her own stunts in these films. In 2011, she returned to the role in "Spy Kids: All the Time in the World".
