Alicia Silverstone was born on October 4, 1976, in San Francisco, California, to British parents Deirdre "Didi" Radford, a former Pan Am flight attendant, and Monty Silverstone, a real estate agent.

She began her career as a model at the age of six and transitioned to acting with her first credited role on "The Wonder Years" in 1992. Her breakthrough came with the 1993 thriller "The Crush," for which she won the 1994 MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance.

Alicia Silverstone gained further fame as a teen idol through her appearances in Aerosmith's music videos for "Cryin'," "Amazing," and "Crazy," and her iconic role as Cher Horowitz in the 1995 teen comedy "Clueless," which earned her a multi-million dollar deal with Columbia Pictures.

She also starred as Batgirl in the 1997 superhero film "Batman & Robin."

In recent years, she has continued to work in film and television, as well as on stage. She is a dedicated vegan and has published two cookbooks, "The Kind Diet" and "The Kind Mama."

Alicia Silverstone is married to filmmaker Christopher Jarecki, and they have one son together.
