Amy Klobuchar

Amy Klobuchar, born on May 25, 1960, in Plymouth, Minnesota, is a prominent American politician and lawyer. She is currently serving as the senior United States senator from Minnesota, a position she has held since 2007.

She is a member of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL), which is the state's affiliate of the Democratic Party. She is known for her folksy, Midwestern demeanor and her ability to win in rural Minnesota.

Before her tenure in the Senate, she served as the county attorney of Hennepin County, Minnesota, from 1999 to 2007. In this role, she was responsible for all criminal prosecution in the state's most populous county.
