Amy Louise Sedaris, born on March 29, 1961, in Endicott, New York, is an American actress, comedian, and writer. She is best known for her role as Jerri Blank in the Comedy Central comedy series "Strangers with Candy" and as Princess Carolyn in the Netflix animated comedy series "BoJack Horseman."

She grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, with her five siblings: David, Lisa, Gretchen, Tiffany, and Paul. Her father, Lou Sedaris, was an IBM engineer, and her mother, Sharon Sedaris, was a homemaker. Her brother David Sedaris is a well-known humorist and author.

Amy Sedaris began her career in comedy and acting by performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. She co-created the long-running sketch show "Rode Hard and Put Away Wet" with her creative partner Casey Wilson.
