Amy Smart is an American actress born on March 26, 1976, in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in Topanga Canyon and studied ballet for ten years before transitioning to acting. She  began her career with modeling in Milan, Italy, and later took acting classes in Los Angeles.

Her first film role was in the anthology horror film "Campfire Tales" in 1997, followed by a minor part in "Starship Troopers." She gained widespread recognition for her role as Jules Harbor in the teen drama "Varsity Blues" in 1999, and she continued to build her career with roles in films like "Road Trip" (2000), "Rat Race" (2001), and "The Butterfly Effect" (2004).

She also appeared in the horror film "Crank" (2006) and the comedy "Just Friends" (2005). Amy Smart has been a part of TV series such as "Felicity," "Shameless," and "Stargirl," where she played Barbara Whitmore from 2020 to 2022.

In her personal life, Amy Smart married Carter Oosterhouse in 2011, and they have one child together. She is also a certified yoga teacher and co-owns a winery with her husband in Michigan.
