She began her career as a model before transitioning to acting, and she is best known for her roles in films such as "The Deer Hunter" (1978), "Breaking Away" (1979), "The Accidental Tourist" (1988), "Hard Promises" (1991), "Crossing Delancey" (1988), and "Miss Firecracker" (1989).
Amy Wright graduated from Beloit College and studied acting with Uta Hagen in New York. She also appeared on Broadway in the original productions of "Fifth of July" and "Noises Off."
