Anita Louise Barone, born on September 25, 1964 in St. Louis, Missouri, is an American actress known for her versatile roles across television and film. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Detroit in 1986, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in theatre from Wayne State University.
Her early television work included a regular spot on “Carol & Company” and a memorable guest appearance as Gail Cunningham on “Seinfeld.” She gained widespread recognition as Carol Willick, Ross Geller’s ex-wife, in the first appearance of the character on “Friends,” a role she left after the pilot episode to pursue other opportunities.
She subsequently joined the cast of “The Jeff Foxworthy Show” as Karen Foxworthy and starred as Linda Woods on the sitcom “Daddio.” She is perhaps best recognized for her starring role as Vicky Gold in “The War at Home” and later as Officer Georgia Jones on Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up.”
