Anita Page, born Anita Evelyn Pomares on August 4, 1910, in Flushing, Queens, New York, was an American film actress who reached stardom in the final years of the silent film era. She was often referred to as "the girl with the most beautiful face in Hollywood" and was known for her blonde hair and blue eyes.

Her entry into the film industry came through her friend, actress Betty Bronson. A photo of Page caught the attention of a talent scout, and with her mother's encouragement, she reached out to an agent who arranged a meeting with the casting director of Paramount Studios.

She eventually signed a contract with MGM, where she made her debut in the 1928 comedy-drama "Telling the World" opposite William Haines. Her performance in "Our Dancing Daughters" (1928) alongside Joan Crawford was a success and led to further roles in "Our Modern Maidens" and "Our Blushing Brides."

Her career continued to flourish with her role in "The Broadway Melody" (1929), which won Best Picture at the Academy Awards. She transitioned to sound films, although she criticized the total loss of silent films, believing that silents were better than talkies.

Despite her success, she retired from acting in 1936 but made a brief comeback in 1961 with the film "The Runaway." She returned to acting 35 years later in 1996 and appeared in four films in the 2000s.

Her personal life was marked by her marriages to composer Nacio Herb Brown and Navy pilot Herschel A. House. She married Brown in 1934, but they divorced in 1935. In 1937, she married House, with whom she had two children.

The couple remained together until House's death in 1991. She spent her later years between her homes in New York City and Van Nuys, Los Angeles, California. She continued to work in television and low-budget films, including "The Fear: Resurrection" (1999) and "Bell Witch: The Movie" (2007).

Throughout her career, she received several awards and nominations. She won a Photoplay Award for Best Performances of the Month in April 1929 for her role in "The Broadway Melody" and was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960 for her contributions to the motion picture industry.
