Anna Ragsdale Camp was born on September 27, 1982, in Aiken, South Carolina, to Dee, a Democratic Party volunteer, and Thomas Sewell Camp, a bank executive. She developed an early interest in acting during elementary school and pursued her passion academically by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2004.

After graduation, she relocated to New York City to embark on a professional acting career, quickly making a name for herself in theater, television, and film.

Her career took off with notable performances on stage, including playing Jill Mason in the 2008 Broadway revival of Peter Shaffer's "Equus." She received a Lucille Lortel Award nomination for her work in the Off-Broadway play "The Scene" and starred in the premiere of Zach Braff's play "All New People."

On television, she gained recognition for her role as the villainous Sarah Newlin in HBO's "True Blood" (2009, 2013–2014), earning a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination as part of the ensemble cast.

She also had recurring roles in popular series such as "Mad Men," "The Good Wife," "The Mindy Project," and "Vegas." In 2016, she starred as Jane Hollander in Amazon Prime's "Good Girls Revolt" and appeared in guest roles in shows like "The Office" and "Glee".

In film, She is best known for her role as Aubrey Posen in the successful "Pitch Perfect" film series (2012–2017), which significantly raised her profile. She also had minor roles in acclaimed films like "The Help" (2011) and "Café Society" (2016).
