Ariel Winter, born Ariel Winter Workman on January 28, 1998, in Fairfax, Virginia, is an American actress best known for her role as Alex Dunphy in the ABC sitcom Modern Family.

She started her career at a very young age, appearing in commercials and television shows like Listen Up, Bones, and ER. Her big break came when she was cast as Alex Dunphy, a role that earned her and her castmates four consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series from 2010 to 2013.
