Aubrey Christina Plaza was born on June 26, 1984, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Bernadette M. and David Plaza, who worked various jobs to support their family. Raised in a Catholic household, she is of Puerto Rican, Irish, Taíno, Black, and Spanish descent.

She discovered her passion for acting in middle school through community theater and later honed her skills at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. She graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2006.

Aubrey Plaza began her career with local theater productions and improv comedy before making her feature film debut in "Mystery Team" (2009). She gained widespread recognition for her role as April Ludgate on the NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation" (2009-2015). Her performance earned her several award nominations and established her as a talented actress with a distinctive deadpan comedic style.
