Ava Max, born Amanda Ava Koci on February 16, 1994, is an American singer and songwriter who has taken the music world by storm. With her powerful vocals, catchy tunes, and unique style, she has become a household name.

Ava Max was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Albanian parents. Her father, Paul (anglicized from Pavllo), hails from Qeparo, and her mother, Andrea, is from Sarandë. Her parents fled Albania after the fall of communism, seeking refuge in Paris before eventually settling in the United States. Their journey was marked by resilience and determination.

Growing up, Ava witnessed her parents' hard work and sacrifice as they juggled multiple jobs without knowing English. Her mother was a classically trained opera singer, and her father played the piano.

Ava's passion for music emerged early. She competed in Radio Disney singing competitions and performed at a young age. Under the moniker Amanda Kay, she released music, including an extended play in 2008.
