B. J. Ward, born Betty Jean Ward on September 12, 1944, in Wilmington, Delaware, is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her work as a voice actress, having lent her voice to numerous animated series and theme park attractions.
B. J. Ward made her stage debut in 1960 in the original off-Broadway production of "The Fantasticks," where she served as an understudy. She later toured with the Groundlings before starting her voice-over career with Hanna-Barbera's "Jana of the Jungle" in 1978.
Her career spans several decades, and she is the creator and star of the acclaimed one-woman show "Stand-Up Opera," which has been a massive success with both critics and audiences. Throughout her singing career, she has released seven albums.
She has also appeared on television, with guest roles in series such as "Frasier," "ER," and "In-Laws." In 1985, she made a rare film appearance in the television film "Malice in Wonderland" alongside Elizabeth Taylor and Jane Alexander.
