Barbara Perry was born on June 22, 1921, in Norfolk, Virginia, and she had a long and distinguished career in Hollywood and on Broadway that spanned 84 years. She began her film career in 1933 with a role in "Counsellor at Law" and continued to work steadily in both film and television throughout her life.

Barbara Perry was known for her roles in television series such as "The Donna Reed Show," "The Andy Griffith Show," "My Three Sons," and "The Dick Van Dyke Show," where she played Buddy Sorrell's wife Pickles before being replaced by Joan Shawlee.

In addition to her television work, she also performed on Broadway in various productions, including "Rumple" in 1957 and "Happy as Larry" in 1950. She wrote and performed in a one-woman Broadway show called "Passionate Ladies" in 1981. Her last known role was in the television series "Baskets," where she appeared in 2017.

Barbara Perry was married twice, first to animator Art Babbitt from 1967 until his death in 1992, and later to Bennett Warren James. She had no children. Barbara Perry passed away on May 5, 2019, in Los Angeles at the age of 97.
