Blanchard Ryan, born Susan Blanchard Ryan on January 12, 1967, in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American actress known for her work in film and television. Raised in Andover, Massachusetts, she developed a love for sports, particularly ice hockey, influenced by her father Ron Ryan, who was the president of the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers and former coach and general manager of the Hartford Whalers.

Her mother, Brenda, is a French teacher. Blanchard Ryan graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Arts in political philosophy.

After college, Blanchard Ryan worked at MTV in its special-effects department before pursuing acting. She began acting in commercials while studying acting and improvisation in New York City.
