Raised by her mother, Sharon Murphy, Brittany showed an early interest in performing arts and began acting in regional theater productions. At the age of thirteen, she and her mother moved to Los Angeles to help her pursue her dream of becoming an actress.

Her career took off in the 1990s when she appeared in television shows like "Drexell's Class" and "Almost Home." Her breakthrough role came in the 1995 film "Clueless," where she played Tai Frasier, a lovable and quirky character that won the hearts of audiences. She went on to star in a variety of films, including "Girl, Interrupted," "8 Mile," "Uptown Girls," "Just Married," and "Sin City."
