Busy Philipps, born Elizabeth Jean Philipps on June 25, 1979, in Oak Park, Illinois, is an American actress, writer, and producer. She grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, and attended Chaparral High School before pursuing her passion for acting at Loyola Marymount University.
Busy Philipps began her career with a breakout role as Kim Kelly in the cult classic TV series "Freaks and Geeks" (1999-2000). She continued to build her career with roles in "Dawson's Creek" (2001-2003) and "ER" (2006-2007).
She is perhaps best known for her role as Laurie Keller on the ABC sitcom "Cougar Town" (2009-2015), for which she received a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She has also appeared in films such as "White Chicks" (2004), "Made of Honor" (2008), and "He's Just Not That Into You" (2009).
