Carol Wayne, born Carol Marie Wayne on September 6, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, was an American television and film actress best known for her role as the buxom Matinée Lady in Johnny Carson's "Art Fern's Tea Time Movie" sketches on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson."
She began her career as a teenage figure skater in the Ice Capades alongside her younger sister, Nina Wayne, and later performed as a showgirl at the Tropicana Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Carol Wayne transitioned into acting with guest appearances on TV shows such as "I Spy," "Bewitched," and "Batman."
Her film career included roles in "The Party" (1968), "Scavenger Hunt" (1979), "Savannah Smiles" (1982), and "Heartbreakers" (1984), where she received acclaim for her performance as Candy. She also appeared in game shows like "Celebrity Sweepstakes" and "Hollywood Squares." In February 1984, Wayne posed nude for Playboy magazine, and later that year, she filed for bankruptcy.

Carol Wayne was married three times, first to Loreto "Larry" Cera in 1965, then to rock-music photographer Barry Feinstein in 1969, with whom she had a son, Alex Feinstein.
She married television and film producer Burt Sugarman in 1975, and they divorced in 1980. Wayne enjoyed gardening and growing bonsai trees, as well as breeding Andalusian horses.
Tragically, Carol Wayne passed away on January 13, 1985, in Manzanillo, Mexico, at the age of 42. Her death was ruled a drowning, and Johnny Carson kept the Art Fern character off the air for most of the following year in her honor.
