Connie Hines was born on March 24, 1931, in Dedham, Massachusetts, to an actress mother and a Boston-based teacher/acting coach father. As a child, she appeared in many of her father's stock-company plays and was voted the most popular girl in her class at Dedham High School.

After her father's death, she married an insurance agent and moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she worked as a model and radio/theatre actress.

Her first film role was in the 1960 movie "Thunder in Carolina," and she also appeared in episodes of "Sea Hunt" and "M Squad" that same year. She made guest appearances on several TV shows, including "Johnny Ringo," "Bachelor Father," and "Perry Mason."

Her most notable role came in 1961 when she was cast as Carol Post, the wife of Wilbur Post, on the sitcom "Mister Ed." The show ran until 1966, and Hines continued to take guest parts on television shows such as "Bonanza" and "The Mod Squad" before retiring in 1971.

Connie Hines was married twice. Her first marriage to Florida insurance agent Arthur "Byrl" Higgs ended in divorce in the 1950s. She later married Lee Savin, an entertainment lawyer and producer, in 1970.

Connie Hines passed away on December 18, 2009, in Beverly Hills, California, from complications of heart problems.
