Constance Marie Lopez is an American actress born on September 9, 1965, in East Los Angeles, California. She is best known for her roles as Angelina "Angie" Lopez in the sitcom "George Lopez" and as Marcela Quintanilla in the film "Selena."

Constance Marie began her career as a dancer, performing in the musical "Cosmopolis" by composer Ryuichi Sakamoto in Japan at the age of 19. Upon returning to Los Angeles, she was spotted by dance choreographer Toni Basil and hired for David Bowie's 1987 Glass Spider Tour.

Her acting career took off with her first film role as a dancer in the 1988 movie "Salsa." She gained further recognition with her role as Penny Rivera in the television series "Dirty Dancing" (1988–1989).

Her portrayal of Marcella Quintanilla, the mother of Selena, in the 1997 biographical film "Selena" was a significant milestone in her career. In 2002, she began her role as Angie Lopez on the ABC sitcom "George Lopez," which ran until 2007 and solidified her status as a household name.

From 2011 to 2017, she starred as Regina Vasquez in the ABC Family/Freeform drama series "Switched at Birth," earning critical acclaim for her performance. She also appeared in the Amazon Prime Video drama series "Undone" (2019–2022) as Camila Diaz. Her film credits include "Tortilla Soup" (2001), "Puss in Boots" (2011), and "Sweet Surrender" (2014).

Constance Marie was in a 15-year relationship with yoga instructor Kent Katich, which ended in 2015. They have a daughter named Luna Marie, born in 2009. She is a longtime vegetarian and raised her daughter with similar dietary principles. In October 2007, she launched her own clothing line, "The Constance Marie Collection."
