Daniel Jacob Radcliffe, known as Daniel Radcliffe, is an English actor who gained worldwide fame at the age of 12 when he began portraying Harry Potter in the film series of the same name.

Born on July 23, 1989, in London, England, Daniel Radcliffe has since branched out to stage acting and has taken on a variety of roles in both blockbusters and independent films.

He was born to British parents, Alan George Radcliffe and Marcia Jeannine Gresham, both of whom had acted as children. His mother, of Jewish descent, was born in South Africa and traces her ancestry to Jewish immigrants from Germany, Lithuania, Poland, and Russia.

His father, of Northern Irish descent, was raised in a Protestant family in Banbridge in County Down. Radcliffe is their only child.

His career took off when he landed the role of Harry Potter in the film series of the same name. He portrayed Potter in all eight films in the series, beginning with "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" (2001) and concluding with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2" (2011).

After the Harry Potter series, Daniel Radcliffe expanded his acting repertoire by taking on a variety of roles in films such as the horror film "The Woman in Black" (2012), surreal drama "Swiss Army Man" (2016), thriller "Now You See Me 2" (2016), and comedy "The Lost City" (2022).

He also portrayed Allen Ginsberg in the biopic "Kill Your Darlings" (2013) and "Weird Al" Yankovic in the musical parody "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story" (2022).

Daniel Radcliffe has also made a name for himself in the theatre. He starred in the West End and Broadway productions of "Equus" in 2007. He returned to Broadway in the musical "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" (2011), earning a Grammy Award nomination.

He has been in a long-term relationship with actress Erin Darke since 2012. The couple welcomed their first child in spring 2023.
