Danny Villa, born on September 21, 1964, in Nogales, Arizona, is a former American professional football player who played as an offensive guard in the National Football League (NFL).

He played college football at Arizona State University, where he earned consensus All-American honors and was recognized as the Pac-10 Offensive Lineman of the Year in 1986. During his college career, he was noted for his leadership as team captain and his pivotal role in helping Arizona State secure the Pac-10 Conference championship and a victory in the 1987 Rose Bowl.

He was selected in the fifth round of the 1987 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots.

He enjoyed a twelve-season NFL career, playing for the New England Patriots, Phoenix Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Carolina Panthers. Known for his versatility, he played multiple positions on the offensive line, including guard, tackle, and center. 

His career was marked by durability and consistent performance, making him a valuable asset on several teams. After retiring from professional football, he served as the athletic director and head football coach at Walpole High School in Massachusetts.

However, his post-football life was marred by legal troubles when, in 2008, he was arrested and later pleaded guilty to charges related to child sexual abuse, resulting in a prison sentence and probation with conditions including registration as a sex offender.

Despite his accomplishments on the field, his legacy is complicated by his criminal convictions. Nonetheless, he remains remembered in sports circles for his college and NFL football achievements, particularly as one of the standout offensive linemen from Arizona State and a respected professional for over a decade in the NFL.
