Deborah Ann Woll

Deborah Ann Woll, born on February 7, 1985, in Brooklyn, New York, is an American actress known for her versatile roles in both television and film. She is of Irish and German descent, and her parents are Cathy Woll, a teacher, and her father, an architect.

Deborah Ann Woll attended the Packer Collegiate Institute and later graduated from the University of Southern California School of Theatre with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2007. She also completed an intensive Shakespeare program at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

She began her career with guest-starring roles in several television series, including "Life" (2007), "ER" (2008), "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (2008), "My Name Is Earl" (2008), and "The Mentalist" (2008). Her breakout role came in 2008 when she was cast as Jessica Hamby, a young and fierce vampire, in the HBO fantasy drama series "True Blood."

She was promoted to a regular cast member from the second season onwards and remained with the show until its conclusion in 2014. During her time on "True Blood," she and her co-stars won the Satellite Award for Best Cast – Television Series in 2009 and were nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2010.

Her personal life includes her marriage to comedian Edward E.J. Scott in December 2018. Her husband's family suffers from choroideremia, a condition that slowly blinds its victims, and Deborah uses her platform to advocate for them and others with the disease.

She has also spoken about her own battle with Celiac disease, which makes her body intolerant to foods containing gluten.

Throughout her career, she has received several nominations and awards, including the Satellite Award and the Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for her work on "True Blood."
