She began her career on the children's television series Barney & Friends before gaining prominence for her role as Mitchie Torres in the Disney Channel movie Camp Rock in 2008. Her debut single, "This Is Me," became a hit, reaching number nine on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Her music career took off with the release of her pop-rock debut album, Don't Forget, in 2008, which debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200. She followed this with Here We Go Again in 2009, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
