Denise Alexander, born on November 11, 1939, in New York City, is an American actress best known for her role as Dr. Lesley Webber on the long-running soap opera "General Hospital." She began her acting career at a young age, making her feature film debut at the age of fourteen in the Don Siegel film "Crime in the Streets." 

Her early television appearances included roles on shows like "The Virginian" and "The Clear Horizon."

Her big break in the soap opera genre came with the role of Susan Hunter Martin on "Days of Our Lives," which she played from 1966 to 1973. In 1973, she joined the cast of "General Hospital" as Dr. Lesley Webber, a role that made her one of the show's most popular leading ladies.

She remained with the show for eleven years before leaving in 1984 due to a contract dispute. She returned to "General Hospital" in 1996 and continued to appear on the show on a recurring basis until 2009. She has made several guest appearances on the show since then, including for its 50th and 56th anniversaries.

In her personal life, Denise Alexander was married to director and producer Richard A. Colla, with whom she has one child. She has also worked as a producer, with credits including the TV movie "Hidden in Silence" and the film "Olly, Olly, Oxen Free."

Her portrayal of Dr. Lesley Webber on "General Hospital" remains one of her most iconic roles, and she continues to be remembered as a beloved figure in the entertainment industry.
