She is the youngest daughter of civil rights leaders Dr. Ralph David Abernathy and Juanita Jones Abernathy. She grew up during the Civil Rights Movement and participated in significant events such as the Selma to Montgomery March for the Right to Vote.
Donzaleigh Abernathy has had a successful career in television, film, and theater. Some of her notable roles include performances in "Any Day Now" (Lifetime), "Gods and Generals" (Warner Bros.), and "Don King: Only in America" (HBO).
