Dwayne Douglas Johnson, popularly known as "The Rock," was born on May 2, 1972, in Hayward, California. He is an American actor, businessman, and former professional wrestler. Johnson is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers ever.

His films have grossed over $3.5 billion in North America and over $10.5 billion worldwide, making him one of the world's highest-grossing and highest-paid actors.

Dwayne Johnson was born to parents Rocky Johnson, a professional wrestler, and Ata Johnson. His maternal grandfather, “High Chief” Peter Maivia, was also a professional wrestler.

He spent part of his childhood in Grey Lynn in Auckland, New Zealand, with his mother's family, where he played rugby and attended Richmond Road Primary School before returning to the U.S.

Dwayne Johnson accepted an athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Miami, where he was a member of the 1991 national championship team.

Despite aspirations to professional football, he went undrafted in the 1995 NFL draft, and briefly signed with the Calgary Stampeders before being cut in his first season. In 1996, his father Rocky assisted in helping him secure a contract with the WWF.

He wrestled for the WWF full-time for eight years before pursuing an acting career. He quickly rose to global prominence, aided by a gimmick he employed as a charismatic trash talker. Johnson left the WWE in 2004 and returned in 2011 as a part-time performer until 2013, making sporadic appearances from thereon until 2019.

Dwayne Johnson is known for his insane work ethic. He starts every day at 3:30 am and only gets around three to five hours of sleep each night. He begins with a light cardio workout, often a run.

After working out, it's time for the first of five to seven meals totaling 3,000 calories. His life is very busy. Not only does he have family and work responsibilities, but he's involved with many other events and organizations that make demands of his time.

He has been married twice. His first marriage was to Dany Garcia from 1997 to 2007. They have a daughter, Simone Alexandra. Johnson is currently married to Lauren Hashian. They have two daughters, Jasmine and Tiana Gia.
