Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, born on February 27, 1932, in London, England, was an American actress renowned for her beauty and talent. Her family moved to Los Angeles before World War II, where her father, an art dealer, and her mother, a former stage actress, introduced her to Hollywood. 

Her career began early, with her first film, There's One Born Every Minute, in 1942. She gained fame with her role in National Velvet in 1944, which established her as a child star. Her career spanned six decades, during which she became one of Hollywood's most iconic figures.

She starred in numerous classic films, including A Place in the Sun, Giant, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Her performances in Butterfield 8 and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? earned her two Academy Awards for Best Actress. Known for her striking violet eyes and glamorous lifestyle, she was also a savvy businesswoman, negotiating the first $1 million contract for her role in Cleopatra.

In her personal life, Elizabeth Taylor was as famous for her marriages as for her acting. She married eight times to seven men, including Richard Burton, whom she married twice. Their tumultuous relationship was highly publicized, and they starred together in several films, including Cleopatra and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
