Emily Procter

Emily Procter, born Emily Mallory Procter on October 8, 1968, in Raleigh, North Carolina, is an American actress and activist. She was adopted as an infant by William Procter, a general practitioner, and Barbara Jones, a volunteer worker.

Emily Procter grew up in Raleigh with her older brother, Whit, who was also adopted. Her parents divorced when she was three years old, but she continued to be raised in Raleigh, attending Ravenscroft School.

During her time at East Carolina University, she became a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and graduated with degrees in journalism and dance. She worked as a television weather anchor at WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina, before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

Her career began with small roles in films such as "Jerry Maguire" (1996) and guest appearances on television series like "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" (1996).

She gained recognition for her role as Associate White House Counsel Ainsley Hayes in the NBC political drama "The West Wing" (2000-2002; 2006). However, it was her starring role as Detective Calleigh Duquesne in the CBS police procedural drama "CSI: Miami" (2002-2012) that made her a household name. Her performance in "CSI: Miami" earned her critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base.

Emily Procter has appeared in several films, including "Leaving Las Vegas" (1995), "Forever Fabulous" (2004), and "Barry Munday" (2010).

She has also been involved in various charity work and founded a nonprofit organization called Ground Breakers in 2019.

Emily Procter is in a relationship with musician Paul Bryan, and the couple has a daughter named Philippa Frances, born on December 8, 2010. They live in a four-bedroom house near the beach in Los Angeles, which features gilded-framed oil portraits, silver candelabras, and natural textures.
