Eva Marie Saint, born on July 4, 1924, in Newark, New Jersey, is a retired American actress who has left an indelible mark on both film and television. She began her career in the late 1940s as a television and radio actress before making her film debut in Elia Kazan's "On the Waterfront" (1954), where she starred opposite Marlon Brando.

Her performance in the film earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, establishing her as a significant talent in Hollywood.

Her career continued to flourish with notable roles in films such as "Raintree County" (1957) opposite Montgomery Clift and Elizabeth Taylor, and Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest" (1959) alongside Cary Grant.
