She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Following her graduation, she served as an apprentice at Burt Reynolds's Maltz Jupiter Theatre in Jupiter, Florida, where she appeared in productions such as "Mame" and "I'm Not Rappaport."

Her television career took off with her role as Samantha Glick on "Harry and the Hendersons" in 1991. She gained further recognition for her portrayal of Lavonne Overton on "Delta" and Karen Larsen on "Do Over."
