She began her acting career in the early 1990s with small roles in films such as "Shout" (1991) and "Hook" (1991). Her breakthrough came with her performance in the film "Emma" (1996), where she played the title role of Emma Woodhouse. This role established her as a leading actress in Hollywood.

Gwyneth Paltrow gained widespread acclaim for her role as Viola de Lesseps in the historical romance "Shakespeare in Love" (1998), which earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress. 

She continued to impress audiences with her performances in films such as "The Talented Mr. Ripley" (1999), "The Royal Tenenbaums" (2001), and "Shallow Hal" (2001). Her versatility as an actress allowed her to take on a variety of roles, from romantic comedies to dramas and thrillers.
