Holly Robinson-Peete, born Holly Elizabeth Robinson on September 18, 1964, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an accomplished American actress, author, and television personality. She is the daughter of Dolores Robinson, a school teacher and talent manager, and Matt Robinson, the first Gordon on Sesame Street.

Holly Robinson-Peete has an older brother named Matthew Thomas Robinson III. Her family moved to California in 1974, and she later graduated from Santa Monica High School. She attended Sarah Lawrence College, where she earned a degree in psychology and French, and also spent a year studying at the Sorbonne in Paris.

Her career began at a young age when she made her first television appearance on Sesame Street at the age of six. She went on to star in several popular TV shows, including "21 Jump Street" as Officer Judy Hoffs, "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" as Vanessa Russell, and "For Your Love" as Dr. Malena Ellis. She also portrayed Diana Ross in the miniseries "The Jacksons: An American Dream" and served as one of the original co-hosts of the CBS Daytime talk show "The Talk."

Holly Robinson-Peete has also ventured into writing, with her children's book "My Brother Charlie" winning an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work in 2011. She is married to Rodney Peete, a professional football player, and they have four children, including fraternal twins Rodney Peete Jr. and Ryan Peete, and sons Robinson Peete and Roman Peete.

Their son Rodney Jr. was diagnosed with autism at age three, which inspired Holly and Rodney to establish the HollyRod Foundation to help families affected by autism.
