Iain Armitage

Iain Armitage is an American actor born on July 15, 2008, in Savannah, Georgia. He is best known for his role as Sheldon Cooper in the television series Young Sheldon, a prequel to The Big Bang Theory. His parents are Euan Morton, a British actor, and Lee Armitage, an American theater producer. His grandfather, Richard Armitage, served as the United States Deputy Secretary of State.

Iain Armitage first gained attention through his YouTube series Iain Loves Theatre, where he reviewed musical theatre shows. This led to offers from agents and his eventual acting career. He made his acting debut in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2017. That same year, he played Ziggy Chapman in the HBO series Big Little Lies and appeared in the films The Glass Castle and Our Souls at Night.

He also voiced young Shaggy Rogers in the 2020 film Scoob! and Chase in PAW Patrol: The Movie in 2021.
