Jane Seymour was born around 1508 at Wolf Hall in Wiltshire, England, to Sir John Seymour and Margery Wentworth. She was the daughter of a noble family and grew up in a household that valued traditional skills such as needlework and household management.

Jane Seymour was not highly educated, but she was known for her gentle and peaceful nature. She served as a lady-in-waiting to both Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII's first two wives.

She caught Henry VIII's eye in early 1536, and they were married on May 30, 1536, just days after the execution of Anne Boleyn. Her marriage to Henry VIII was significant because she provided him with his long-desired male heir, the future Edward VI, who was born on October 12, 1537. Unfortunately, She died on October 24, 1537, just days after giving birth, likely due to postnatal complications.

Jane Seymour was the only one of Henry VIII's wives to receive a queen's funeral, and she was later buried alongside him in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. Her death was a great sorrow to Henry, who genuinely mourned her loss.
