Jean Smart, born Jean Elizabeth Smart on September 13, 1951, in Seattle, Washington, is an accomplished American actress known for her versatile work in both comedy and drama. She has won six Primetime Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and has been nominated for a Tony Award and a Grammy Award.

Jean Smart first gained prominence for her role as Charlene Frazier Stillfield on the CBS sitcom "Designing Women" from 1986 to 1991. She has since appeared in numerous television shows, including "Frasier," "Samantha Ooh," "24," "Fargo," "Watchmen," and "Mare of Easttown."

She currently stars as Deborah Vance in the HBO Max comedy series "Hacks," for which she has received critical acclaim and additional Emmy Awards.
