Jeannine Riley

Jeannine Riley, born on October 1, 1940, in Fresno, California, is an American actress best known for her role as Billie Jo Bradley on the CBS sitcom "Petticoat Junction" from 1963 to 1965. She moved with her family to Madera, California, after her father left the Army.

Jeannine Riley attended the Pasadena Playhouse, where she received two years of education in acting and other aspects of show business. Early in her career, she performed on television in Fresno and in underwater ballet at a hotel.

Jeannine Riley appeared in guest roles on numerous television series such as "Route 66," "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," and "The Wild Wild West," and a few feature films like "The Big Mouth" (1967), "Fever Heat" (1968), "The Comic" (1969), and "Electra Glide in Blue" (1973).

She won the role of Billie Jo Bradley on "Petticoat Junction" after competing against 300 other actresses. She left the series in 1965 to pursue movies and later had a regular cast member role on the comedy variety series "Hee Haw" (1969-1971).

In 1973, Jeannine Riley played Lulu McQueen on the western sitcom "Dusty's Trail," which aired for one season. She also appeared in the play "The Fourposter" at the Sherman Oaks Playhouse in 1953.

Her career continued into the 1980s, and she earned a Cannes Film Festival nomination for Best New Actress for her role opposite Robert Blake in "Electra Glide in Blue."

Jeannine Riley married Gary Groom in 1965, but their marriage ended in divorce in 1972. She married Irwin Radnitz in 1974, but that marriage also ended in divorce. There are no reported children from her marriages.

In 2020, Jeannine Riley released a book titled "The Bolder Woman: It's About Time," which instructs women on how they can still fulfill their dreams no matter how old they get.
