Jessica Lundy was born on March 20, 1966, in San Diego, California, to Jean (née McDonald) and Joel Lundy, a surgical oncologist. She grew up in Avon, Connecticut, and has a younger sister named Judy.

Jessica Lundy attended the Circle in the Square Theatre School and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in drama and performing arts from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University in 1987. She moved to Los Angeles in 1990 to pursue her acting career.

Jessica Lundy began her career with film roles in "Bright Lights, Big City" (1988) and "Caddyshack II" (1988). She also appeared in the 1990 film "Madhouse" opposite John Larroquette.

Her television career includes roles in the short-lived police drama "Over My Dead Body" (1990-1991) and the revival of "The Carol Burnett Show" (1991). She also appeared in two episodes of "Seinfeld," including the episode "The Bubble Boy," where she played Jerry's girlfriend with the peculiar laugh.

From 1995 to 1996, Jessica Lundy starred as Gloria Utz in the NBC sitcom "Hope & Gloria." She also appeared in the comedy films "The Stupids" (1996) and "RocketMan" (1997). Since 2015, she has been starring as Inspector Amanda Wainwright in the CBS crime drama series "The Inspectors."

Jessica Lundy has performed in theater, including an Off-Broadway production of "Uncommon Women and Others" in 1994.
