Jet Li, born Li Lianjie on April 26, 1963, in Beijing, China, is a renowned martial artist, actor, and philanthropist. He began training in wushu at the age of eight and quickly became a national champion, winning his first national championship for the Beijing Wushu Team at the age of eleven.

He retired from competitive wushu at eighteen and transitioned to a successful career in film. Jet Li made his film debut in 1982 with the movie Shaolin Temple, which was a massive hit and catapulted him to stardom in East Asia.

He continued to star in many successful films, including the Once Upon a Time in China series, Fist of Legend, and Hero. Jet Li has been married twice. His first marriage was to Huang Qiuyan, a fellow wushu athlete, from 1987 to 1990. They have two daughters, Si and Taimi.
