Juice WRLD, born Jarad Anthony Higgins on December 2, 1998, in Chicago, Illinois, was an influential American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, raised by his single mother who was conservative and religious, which meant he wasn't allowed to listen to hip-hop music during his childhood.

Instead, he developed an interest in rock music through video games. He began his musical journey in high school, uploading songs to SoundCloud under the name JuicetheKidd before eventually adopting the moniker Juice WRLD, inspired by the 1992 film "Juice."

His career took off in 2017 with the release of his debut EP, "Juice WRLD 9 9 9," which included the breakout single "Lucid Dreams." This track, which sampled Sting's "Shape of My Heart," became a massive hit, peaking at number two on the Billboard Hot 100.

The success of "Lucid Dreams" led to a record deal with Grade A Productions and Interscope Records. His debut studio album, "Goodbye & Good Riddance," was released in 2018 and featured other popular tracks like "All Girls Are the Same" and "Lean wit Me."

His music was characterized by its introspective lyrics and blending of emo, rock, and rap elements, which resonated with a wide audience. His second album, "Death Race for Love," debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in 2019 and included hits like "Robbery" and "Hear Me Calling."

He also collaborated with Future on the mixtape "Wrld on Drugs" and contributed to the soundtrack of the film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" with the song "Hide."

Despite his rapid rise to fame, his life was tragically cut short. He passed away on December 8, 2019, at the age of 21, due to an accidental overdose of oxycodone and codeine. His death shocked the music world and his fans, who mourned the loss of a talented and promising artist. Posthumously, his music continued to make an impact. The album "Legends Never Die," released in 2020, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and included tracks like "Come & Go" with Marshmello and "Wishing Well."
