Julie London, born Julie Peck on September 26, 1926, in Santa Rosa, California, was an American singer and actress whose career spanned more than 40 years. Raised by vaudevillian parents, she developed a passion for music and performance from a young age.
Her family moved to Los Angeles when she was 14, and she began singing in local nightclubs while still in high school. She graduated from Hollywood Professional School in 1945 and started her acting career with roles in adventure films like "Nabonga" and "On Stage Everybody."
Her career took off when she married actor Jack Webb in 1947, and they had two daughters together. However, they divorced in 1953, and she later married jazz musician Bobby Troup in 1954, with whom she had three more children. In the mid-1950s, she signed a recording contract with Liberty Records, marking the beginning of her professional musical career.
