Julissa Bermudez was born on September 28, 1983, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and raised in Elmhurst, Queens, New York. From a young age, she pursued theater studies at Talent Unlimited High School in New York, which opened doors for her to begin auditioning and modeling.

Her career breakthrough came with a Coca-Cola commercial, and she quickly gained attention as a finalist in a competition to represent Jennifer Lopez's Sweetface fashion line. Julissa rose to national fame as a co-host on BET’s popular music video countdown show 106 & Park from 2005 to 2006, later reprising her role during its series finale in 2014.

She became known for hosting various entertainment programs, including MTV’s Jersey Shore: After Hours and associated reunion specials, as well as Yahoo! Celebrity and Central Ave from 2020 to 2021.

Her talent and charisma on screen led to acting roles in movies such as All You've Got, Make It Happen, Harlem Hostel, and Danger One, along with appearances in television series like Royal Pains, Z Rock, Rescue Me, Hunters, and The Plus One.

She further expanded her reach into reality television by co-starring in Empire Girls: Julissa & Adrienne alongside her friend Adrienne Bailon, which aired on the Style Network and highlighted their personal and professional lives.

Over the years, she has earned recognition not only for her acting and hosting skills but also as a dancer, model, and entrepreneur, launching the skincare brand República Skin in 2021.
