June Lockhart

June Lockhart was born on June 25, 1925, in New York City, New York, to Canadian-American actor Gene Lockhart and English-born actress Kathleen Lockhart. She began her acting career at a young age, making her professional debut at the age of eight in a Metropolitan Opera production of "Peter Ibbetson," playing Mimsey in the dream sequence.

Her film debut came in MGM's version of "A Christmas Carol" in 1938, where she played the daughter of her parents.

Her career spanned nearly 90 years, and she appeared in numerous films, including "Meet Me in St. Louis," "Sergeant York," and "The Yearling." She also starred in the Broadway play "For Love or Money," for which she won a Tony Award for Outstanding Performance by a Newcomer.

In television, June Lockhart is best known for her roles in the series "Lassie," where she played the mother Ruth Martin, and "Lost in Space," where she portrayed Dr. Maureen Robinson. She also appeared in the CBS television sitcom "Petticoat Junction" as Dr. Janet Craig.
