Kaitlin Hopkins, born Kaitlin Persson on February 1, 1964, in New York City, is an accomplished American actress and singer. She is the daughter of actress Shirley Knight and stage producer/director Gene Persson.

She graduated from the Williston Northampton School in 1982 and went on to study at Carnegie Mellon University's musical theater program and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

Her television career began with an appearance on the soap opera "One Life to Live," followed by a regular role on "Another World." She later moved to Los Angeles in 1993, where she joined The Matrix Theatre Company and performed at various venues like The Pink in Santa Monica.

Her television credits include "Beverly Hills, 90210," "Murder, She Wrote," "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Star Trek: Voyager," and "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman."

In 1994, Kaitlin Hopkins was cast in the rock opera "I Was Looking at the Ceiling and Then I Saw the Sky" by Peter Sellars, which took her around the world performing in cities like Paris, Hamburg, and Montreal.

She made her Broadway debut in 2002 with "Noises Off" and has also appeared in "Anything Goes" with Patti LuPone and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

Kaitlin Hopkins has been involved in numerous live radio plays for LA Theater Works, including "Proof" with Anne Heche and "The Heidi Chronicles" with Martha Plimpton.

In 2009, she was named the Head of Musical Theatre at Texas State University, where her husband, Jim Price, is the Head of Playwriting. She has also co-founded Living Mental Wellness, a company that offers educational programs to enhance mental wellness for performing artists.

Her film credits include "Confessions of a Shopaholic," "The Nanny Diaries," "Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles," and "As Good as It Gets." She has received several awards and nominations, including a Drama Desk Award nomination for "Bat Boy: The Musical" and an L.A. Ovation Award nomination for "She Loves Me."
