Kari Wuhrer, born Kari Samantha Wuhrer on April 28, 1967, in Brookfield, Connecticut, is an American actress, model, and singer. She is the daughter of Karin, a payroll accountant, and Andrew Wuhrer, a former police officer and car salesman. Kari has three siblings and grew up with a passion for performing arts.

As a teenager, she sang in nightclubs, often sneaking out of her family home to perform. She studied acting from the age of 13 at the Wooster School and later attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Marymount Manhattan College, Columbia University, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London with famed teacher Uta Hagen.

Her career began with a role in the drama film "Fire with Fire" (1986). She gained recognition as the hostess of the MTV game show "Remote Control" (1988-1989) and for her portrayal of Abigail on USA Network's "Swamp Thing" (1991-1992).

Her biggest career break came when she was cast as Maggie Beckett on the sci-fi television series "Sliders" (1995-2000). During this period, she also appeared in several films, including "Anaconda" (1997), "Eight Legged Freaks" (2002), and "Sharknado 2: The Second One" (2014).

Kari Wuhrer also signed a record deal with Rick Rubin and released her only album, "Shiny," in 1999. The album produced the successful single "There's a Drug."

She has also worked as a VJ on MTV and has guest-starred in various TV series, including "Leverage".

Kari Wuhrer has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Daniel Salin from 1995 to 1999, and her second marriage was to James Scura, with whom she has three children. Kari Wuhrer is of Cherokee and German ancestry and enjoys pottery as a hobby. She has also had her tattoos and breast implants removed over the years.
