Kate Moss, born on January 16, 1974, in Croydon, London, is a British fashion model whose waifish figure and natural look redefined the industry in the 1990s. Discovered at the age of 14 by Sarah Doukas, the owner of the modeling agency Storm, she quickly rose to fame.

Her stark, unstylized photographs taken by Corinne Day for The Face magazine in 1990 caught the attention of the fashion world. Unlike the statuesque and curvaceous supermodels of the time, her slight build and street style earned her the title of "anti-supermodel."

Her career skyrocketed in 1992 when she signed with American designer Calvin Klein. Her advertisements for the brand, highlighting her very thin frame, sparked controversy and accusations of promoting anorexia and pedophilia.

Despite the uproar, Kate Moss became one of the most sought-after and highest-paid models, appearing in campaigns for Dior, Burberry, Chanel, Versace, and Dolce & Gabbana. Her influence extended beyond modeling, as she became a muse to numerous designers and appeared on over 300 magazine covers.

In addition to her modeling career, Kate Moss ventured into design. Her first collection for the retailer Topshop in 2007 reportedly sold out in one day. She also debuted a line of handbags for Longchamp in 2010 and launched a perfume line the same year. Her collaboration with Rimmel London resulted in a successful lipstick collection in 2011, and in 2020, she introduced a jewelry line with Messika.

Her personal life has been well-documented by the tabloids. She married Jamie Hince, guitarist for The Kills, in 2011, but the couple divorced in 2016. She has a daughter, Lila Grace Moss Hack, born in 2002, from her relationship with magazine editor Jefferson Hack.

Known for her partying lifestyle, she faced a drug use scandal in 2005, which led to her being dropped from several fashion campaigns. However, she was cleared of charges and soon resumed her modeling career.

Despite the controversies, Her contributions to fashion have been recognized with numerous accolades. In 2007, Time magazine named her one of the world's 100 most influential people. She received the Vogue/CFDA award from the Fashion Designers of America in 2005 and was honored at the British Fashion Awards in 2013 for her contribution to fashion over 25 years.
