Kathryn Walker is an accomplished American theater, television, and film actress born on January 9, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Wells College in Aurora, New York, and was a Fulbright Scholar in music and drama.
Her career began on the off-Broadway stage with her performance in "Slag" in 1971, and she later appeared in several Broadway productions, including "The Good Doctor" (1974), "A Touch of the Poet" (1977), "Private Lives" (1983), and "Wild Honey" (1986). She has also been a sporadic presence on daytime drama, including "Search for Tomorrow" and "Another World."
Kathryn Walker is perhaps best known for her Emmy Award-winning performance as First Lady Abigail Adams in the PBS miniseries "The Adams Chronicles" (1976).
Her film credits include roles in "Blade" (1973), "Slap Shot" (1977), "Girlfriends" (1978), "Rich Kids" (1979), and "Neighbors" (1981), where she played John Belushi's wife. She also narrated two PBS reality series, "Frontier House" (2002) and "Colonial House" (2004).

Kathryn Walker has directed and adapted several classical theater productions, including Euripides' "Hekabe" (2004), Sophocles' "Elektra" (2002), and her own adaptation of Fagles' "The Iliad" (2006).
She co-founded The Athens Street Company with the late William Alfred and was Rothschild Artist in Residence at Radcliffe College in 1997. Her six-part documentary series "The Millennium Journal" has been shown on the PBS cable channel Metro Arts.
Kathryn Walker was married to singer James Taylor from 1985 to 1995, and she currently resides in both New York City and Tesuque, New Mexico. Her novel "A Stopover in Venice" was published in 2008.
