Katie Lowes

Katie Lowes was born on September 22, 1982, in Queens, New York City, and grew up in Port Washington, New York. She is an American actress and theater director best known for her role as Quinn Perkins in the ABC political drama series Scandal and her portrayal of Rachel DeLoache Williams in the Netflix drama series Inventing Anna.

Katie Lowes graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in acting. She is of Irish Catholic and Jewish descent.

Her career began in 2004 with her first screen role in the FX series Rescue Me. She later appeared in various television series, including The Sopranos, Without a Trace, NCIS, Ghost Whisperer, Castle, Leverage, and The Closer.

She also starred in low-budget films such as The Job, Bear, and Café. Her breakout role came with Scandal, where she played Quinn Perkins from 2012 to 2018.

She made her Broadway debut in 2018 in the production of Waitress alongside her husband, Adam Shapiro. She also starred in the CBS sitcom How We Roll, which premiered in 2022 but was canceled after one season.

Katie Lowes is married to actor Adam Shapiro, and they have two children, Albee Quinn Shapiro and Vera Fay Shapiro. The couple founded the Los Angeles-based IAMA Theater Company and supports Southern California's black box theater community. She practices Hatha yoga three times a week and enjoys hiking twice a week. She lives in Los Angeles with her family.
